Andrew Zakrocki joined the New York County District Attorney’s Office in 2000 as
a member of the Trial Division. As an Assistant District Attorney assigned
to Trial Bureau 70, Mr. Zakrocki, prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony
level crimes including, among other things, assault, homicide, sexual
assault, grand larceny, robbery, identity theft, and narcotics
related offenses. During his tenure in the Trial Division, Mr. Zakrocki was
also a member of the following units: Identity theft, Domestic Violence, and the
Sex Crimes. In 2006, Mr. Zakrocki accepted a position in the Frauds Bureau.
There, he prosecuted complex financial crimes including, tax evasion, money
laundering, corporate embezzlement, and financial fraud. In 2007, Mr. Zakrocki
was promoted to Deputy Unit Chief of the Identity Theft Unit where he currently
supervises attorneys, investigative analysts, and a computer forensics examiner
in long and short-term investigations and prosecutions of a wide range of cases
including, counterfeit credit card organizations, online account intrusion
schemes, market manipulation, and cyber-crimes. Mr. Zakrocki also
provides training to prosecutors and other members of law enforcement on
website and identity theft investigations.
He is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Geneseo and
received his J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School.
